Sunny Health Fitness Pro Spin Bike Review

Introduction

Sunny Health and Fitness out of Los Angeles, imports high-quality fitness equipment at a lower price than many of its competitors, and the SF-B110 Indoor Cycle is no exception. The cycle gives you the authentic feeling of spinning class at the gym without having to leave home. Sunny Health’s bike is perfect for any fitness enthusiast looking for an exercise bike at an affordable price.

Specifications & Features

The bike features adjustable handlebars and a seat that adjusts up, down, forward, and backward. The pedals have standard toe clip cages with straps to keep your footing secure. To increase resistance, the bike has a manual adjustment knob and back pad. The bike itself weighs 106 pounds but includes detachable wheels for easy transport. The indoor bike measures 47.5” H x 20.5” W x 46.5” L, and has a generous maximum user weight of 265 pounds.

The Good

In the world of indoor cycles, the flywheel is a critical part of the mechanism. A heavier flywheel means greater stability, sufficient resistance, and a smoother ride. The SF-B110 features one of the heaviest flywheels on the market; at 44 pounds you’re getting a quality piece of equipment. If you want to move your bike to a different room in the house, the unit includes detachable transport wheels. The bike is very easy to assemble; most people report being able to assemble the bike in 20-30 minutes. Adding to the gym feel of the bike is the ability to adjust the seat and handlebars, and increase resistance.  The bike is well constructed with a durable steel frame.

The Bad

A common complaint regarding many indoor cycles is the uncomfortable seat, and the SF-B110 is, unfortunately, no exception. Some users have reported getting used to it, while others have added a silicone seat cover or replaced the seat entirely. The model does run with a chain drive system, which contributes to a smooth ride but also contributes to noise. Spinning is traditionally accompanied by heat-pumping music, so some riders don’t seem to notice the noise. The bike lacks some of the added features we get at the gym, like a water bottle holder or space for your iPod. Unlike some of the gym models, the SF-B110 does not have elliptical or stair step features—it is only an indoor cycle. Those who like to keep track of your statistics will have to look elsewhere, as the indoor cycle does not include a computer. The bike is not well suited for taller riders; riders of average height should have no problems.

The Verdict

The Sunny SF-B110 indoor cycling bike is a great option for the home fitness enthusiast looking to recreate that spinning class at the gym. At a retail price of around $300.00, you’re getting a competitive product made of durable materials. While Sunny Health’s indoor cycle may lack some of the bells and whistles of the gym machines, it’s a cost-effective, high-quality product.
